Marshallese Students Shine at 114th National Indigenous Games in Kaohsiung

In partnership with the Council of Indigenous Peoples the Embassy coordinated the participation of Marshallese students at the 114 National Indigenous Games being held in Kaohsiung.
The National Indigenous Games, co-hosted by the ROC (Taiwan) Ministry of Sports, the Council of Indigenous Peoples, and the Kaohsiung City Government, has brought together over 5,000 indigenous athletes from all 16 tribes across Taiwan including athletes from partner countries such as the Marshall Islands, Palau, Tuvalu and others. The event will feature a variety of traditional games, including archery, wrestling, relay races, hammer throw, net fishing, foot races and others showcasing the rich cultural heritage and athleticism of indigenous communities.
The opening ceremony of the 114 National Indigenous Games was highly attended and televised, drawing immense crowds and showcasing the vibrant spirit of indigenous communities and peoples. The Marshallese students brought the house down at the opening ceremony with their performance showcasing their remarkable talents and cultural prowess. Their vibrant performances captivated the audience, celebrating the rich heritage and spirit of the Marshallese!
